The Experience
Established in 1965, 12 Old Square has developed a reputation for the highest quality advice and advocacy services together with expertise in their fields. Chambers appreciate the practical significance of their areas of expertise and the aim is always to acheive the best possible result for the client.
Systems
Chamber's computer and administration systems have been upgraded with an investment in the InquisitaLaw chambers administration software. This has produced IT support that is tailored solely for the practice and client demands of 12 Old Square. The variety of client requirements are appreciated. Instruction and delivery of drafts can be facilitated by e-mail or disc upon request.
Chambers aim is to supply the best service possible at the lowest overheads, passing on the consequent savings to solicitors. Under the Bar Direct Scheme, for instance, it is estimated that clients benefit from savings of up to fifty percent.
Advocacy
At the heart of chambers is the great emphasis on advocacy skills. Members of chambers regularly appear in courts and tribunals throughout the jurisdiction and all are accomplished advocates in their areas of expertise.
Chambers can arrange appearances for the conduct of hearings in most forums throughout the United Kingdom.
Areas of Practice
12 Old Square has an established strong reputation in general civil law particularly in the areas of landlord and tenant, family and child care, immigration and nationality, family and criminal law. We provide a professional service in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
With a long history of practice in civil and administrative law, 12 Old Square is strongly placed to provide advice to both organisations and individuals particularly after the introduction of the Human Rights Act.
Fees
Advisory work is competitively priced with a charging policy based upon an hourly rate. In appropriate cases, a charge can be negotiated for work prior to commencement. Chambers operate a strict policy against the 'double-booking' of it's members. When this occurs through the court's imposition of a hearing date, the client will always be promptly informed of the situation.
For further details about any of the above topics please contact the Senior Clerk to chambers, Steven Russell.
